First Reviews: Chernobylite - Average in General, Great for STALKER Fans

Today marks the release of Chernobylite, a survival horror game from The Farm 51. The game's reviews seem to be good, although critics point out that it may not appeal to players unfamiliar with the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series.

In the spring of 2019, survival horror set in the Chernobyl zone, Chernobylite, hit the crowdfunding website Kickstarter, and just a few months later also Steam's early access. After that, the game went off the media radars until this year, when we received, among other things, a release date. The game launched is today and we can read the critic reviews of Chernobylite.

In the popular review website Metacritic the game has an average score of 69/100.. The scores came out quite average - for such an ambitious project - although all of them reach beyond the middle of the scale, and the highest score is 78/100 points.

  • GamePressure - 8.0/10

Although not many reviewers have so far decided to assess The Farm 51's latest game, we received some tangible opinions. It seems that Chernobylite may seem average to the general public, but fans of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series. will certainly appreciate this title. The Zone looks great, the story is engaging, and the decisions made by the player have their consequences. Unfortunately the Chernobyl survival game has a lot of repetitions, the combat is average, and the gameplay seems stiff in some areas. The game is really ambitious, creates a great atmosphere, and at the same time borrows a lot of mechanics from different genres, but they are not refined enough - they just come off as average.

The game is to be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 7 this year, and later this year on next-gen consoles.
