The creators of Chronicles of Myrtana have thanked the fans for their support. On this occasion, we asked the creators for a comment about their further plans.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • Creators of Chronicles of Myrtana have thanked the fans for their support;
  • The modification for Gothic 2 has already been downloaded over 100 thousand times;
  • The developers will now focus on bug fixes.

A few days ago Chronicles of Myrtana, the long-awaited mod to Gothic 2 has been released on Steam and quickly won the hearts of players, which translated into numerous positive reviews. Activity statistics also look good. At the peak moment the mod was launched by over 9 thousand people at the same time, which is a really impressive result, taking into account that we are talking about a fan project.

On this occasion, we asked the creators to comment on the mod's debut. On behalf of the entire team of developers, Mateusz Pawlowski thanked for the votes of support and positive feedback on Steam.

"We are honored by the fact that Marvin's adventures on Archolos appealed to so many people. Before the release of the mod, none of us could even imagine such a huge interest. We realize that the game has some flaws and we still have to put in a lot of work to reach the perfect condition of the mod. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the entire player community, who are not only understanding of the bugs we've found, but also helping us in many aspects of our daily work - especially the group gathered on our discord. Without you guys, we wouldn't be able to handle so many questions and requests. You are amazing!"

Moreover, he revealed that Chronicles of Myrtana are popular not only in the mod's native Poland. Downloads from abroad account for about 25-30% of the total, and most come from Russia and Germany. In total, the mod has been downloaded through Steam more than 100 thousand times.

We also asked the authors to share their future plans with us. Pawlowski confessed that the team will now focus on bug fixes that plague the mod. After finishing this work, the creators intend to finally rest. The dev also admitted that he doubts that they'll be involved in another such project in the future.

"What's next? We don't know, but it's unlikely that the team will decide on another project connected with Gothic - certainly not on such a scale. Time will tell if we'll work together again. After these four years we've got a solid group of friends left, who are not likely to part with each other."

So we can only rejoice that after years of work we can finally play Chronicles of Myrtana and return to the Gothic universe. If you would like to show your appreciation to the mod's creators, you can vote for it in a poll organized by Mod DB.
