Crashes, Errors and Freezes in Frostpunk 2, Players are Disappointed

Following the huge popularity of Frostpunk, 11 Bit Studios has released its highly anticipated sequel, Frostpunk 2. While the official launch is set for September 20th, players who pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition can already experience the game's icy world. Sadly, some people are facing major issues, like disappearing save files, poor performance with low FPS, and crashes or DirectX errors that render the game unplayable. It seems that some of these problems persist despite the beta testing phase.

Frostpunk 2 – Crashes, Screen Freeze, and other Errors

Technical issues are widespread these days, nearly every game released recently is facing similar challenges. Titles like Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2, Black Myth: Wukong, and Final Fantasy XVI all had rough starts on PC, and unfortunately, Frostpunk 2 is no exception.

Even though FP2 doesn't have overly demanding system requirements, its visually complex gameplay can put a strain on your PC. With such a wide range of hardware setups, it's unavoidable that some players will encounter performance issues. While developers strive to optimize the game for various configurations, individual setups may still face difficulties.

If you've already tried common crash fixes like verifying game files, updating graphics card drivers, and closing background programs or overlays, there may not be much else you can do. There's a strong chance of a day-one patch that will hopefully address some of these problems. With people actively reporting crashes on launch, freezes during chapter transitions, and errors starting to intensify in chapter 3, the developers are certainly working to deliver a smoother gameplay experience for everyone. To speed this process, you can submit any bugs you encounter.
