Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.6 has a Hidden Graphics Option; Here's How to Unlock it

Cyberpunk 2077 has added an additional setting for population density on the streets after patch 1.6. However, it is hidden and a mod is needed to unlock it.

At the beginning of this September Cyberpunk 2077 received a major update 1.6, which introduced, among other things, missions and items inspired by the anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. As it turns out, this patch also implemented a new graphics setting. Unfortunately, it is hidden by default. However, modders have come to the rescue.

The secret option, which appeared in patch 1.6, concerns the density of pedestrians and cars on the streets of Night City. It can be increased by one degree beyond what is available in the game by default - to a level dubbed as Astonishing.

If you are playing Cyberpunk 2077 on PC, the mod that unlocks this feature is available via Nexus Mods. Its installation can be done in two ways. The first is to use Vortex, which will independently carry out the entire process.

The second way is based on manually copying the "options.json" file included in the archive with the modification to two locations:

  1. installation folder\Cyberpunk 2077\r6\config\settings
  2. installation folder\Cyberpunk 2077\r6\config\settings\platform\pc

In both cases, you will replace existing files. Therefore, remember to make backups of the originals before you activate this mod. You also need to keep in mind that if you uploaded mods for increasing population density before patch 1.6 and still have them installed, the project described above will not work.
