In this article we introduce and discuss all classes in Dark and Darker. This game has attracted many players with its unusual gameplay concept.

Dark and Darker is a game that allows you to take on the role of an adventurer and face other players and various dangers in dungeons. Many people have become interested in this gameplay concept. In this article we will introduce you to all classes in the game.

Dark and Darker: Wizard

Wizard General Description

Wizards use powerful magic. They can use it offensively and defensively to confuse the enemy.

  1. Weapon of choice: wizard staff or spellbook
  2. Strengths: they can use magic, meditate to self-refresh spells, wield magical weapons.
  3. Weaknesses: they have slow interaction speed, low physical damage and health.

Wizard Perks

  1. Arcane Feedback – Each time you do damage with an arcane spell your spell casting speed and base magic damage increases by 1% per stack. Arcane Feedback can stack up to 5 times at once. The bonus duration lasts for 7 seconds and resets with each successful stack.
  2. Arcane Mastery – Increases the magic damage of arcane spells by 5% and reduces the casting time of arcane spells by 1 second.
  3. Fire Mastery – Increases the magic damage of the fire spells damage by 5% and increases the duration of burn status by 2.5 seconds.
  4. Ice Shield – Increases ArmorRating by 20 and inflicts Frosbite on melee attack targets for 0.5 seconds.
  5. Mana Surge – Increase your magic damage bonus by 5%.
  6. Melt – If you deal magical fire damage to target, the target’s physical reduction bonus is reduced by -10% for 5 seconds.
  7. Quick Chant – Increases your spell casting speed by 10%.
  8. Reactive Shield – activates an arcane reactive shield that lasts for 3 seconds when you take damage. The arcane shield can absorb 10 total damage. The shield will only reactivate after cooldown period.
  9. Sage – Increases knowledge by 10%.

Wizard Skills

  1. Intense Focus – Reduce the casting time of the next spell you cast to 0.1 seconds.
  2. Meditation – Enter a meditative state and revive spells at a rate of 40 spell costs over 10 seconds.
  3. Spell memory (1 and 2) – Allows you to memorize spells to use in the dungeon.

Dark and Darker: Rogue

Rogue General Description

Rogues are masters in the art of thievery and swift movement. They are extremely fast and perceptive.

  1. Weapon of choice: daggers.
  2. Strengths: Rogues are quick (movement speed, attack speed, interaction speed), they can move more silently, detect & disable traps and pick locks without a lock pick.
  3. Weaknesses: they have low Health, damage bonus and low magic resistance.

Rogue Perks

  1. Ambush – The first attack within 3 seconds after being released from stealth deals 50% additional weapon damage as damage.
  2. Backstab – Increases physical damage bonus by 30% when attacking form behind the target.
  3. Creep – When walking while sitting, the volume of the footsteps sound is significantly reduced and the movement speed is increased by 5%.
  4. Dagger Expert – Increases your physical damage bonus by 5% when attacking with a dagger.
  5. Hidden Pockets – Items worn in utility slots do not appear on the waist.
  6. Lockpick Expert – Ability to pick locks without a lockpick.
  7. Pickpocket – You can steal enemy’s item from the dungeon.
  8. Poisoned Weapon – A successful attack applies poison that deals 4 magic damage over 4 seconds. The poison can stack up to 5 times at once.
  9. Stealth – If you are hiding, you can move 10 steps while crouching or slow walking.
  10. Trap Detection – Highlights nearby traps. Highlighted traps can be disarmed by the player.

Rogue Skills

  1. Caltrops – Upon stepping on it, it deals 10 physical damage and slows the movement speed of the stepper by -50% for 2 seconds.
  2. Hide – Become invisible. It is possible to change your equipment in this state. You are revealed when you attempt an action. Such as moving, attacking, or using a skill.
  3. Rupture – The next successful attack causes the target to bleed for 20 physical damage over 5 seconds. The buff is consumed when an attack hits an object or target.
  4. Smoke Bomb – A smoke grenade is deployed creating a smoke screen. The smoke screen lasts 30 seconds and covers a 7.5m area. When a hostile target enters the smoke screen, their movement speed is reduced by -20%.
  5. Weakpoint Attack – When next attack succeeds, it deals 50% additional weapon damage to the target. If the hit is successful, the target’s defense is reduced by 50% for 5 seconds.

  3. Will – 5;
  4. Knowledge – 12;
  5. Resourcefulness – 15;
  6. Health – 84;

Dark and Darker: Ranger

Ranger: General Description

Rangers are masters of survival. They can set traps and use ranged weapons with deadly efficiency.

  1. Weapon of choice: long-ranged weapons.
  2. Strengths: rangers are quick with the bow, they can track enemy players, set traps and quickly start a campfire.
  3. Weaknesses: They are poor with melee weapons (cannot equip most of them and deal little damage).

Ranger Perks

  1. Crossbow Mastery – Increases physical damage bonus by 5% when using a crossbow, increases reload speed by 50% and movement speed by 50% when reloading.
  2. Enhanced hearing – Can hear enemy footstep sounds from farther away.
  3. Kinesthesia – When moving with the bowstring drawn, movement speed increases by 10%.
  4. Nimble Hands – When using a bow, change your default shooting animation so it shoots 15% faster.
  5. Ranged Weapons Expert – Increases physical attack power by 5% when attacking with a ranged weapon.
  6. Sharpshooter – Headshot damage increases by 15% when attacking with a long-range weapon.
  7. Spear Proficiency – Spear can be used. When attacking with a spear, gain 10 physical strength.
  8. Tracking – Detect recent enemy footsteps.
  9. Trap Expert – Installation time decreases dramatically when installing trap type items.

Ranger Skills

  1. Field Rotation – Forage food and recover 25 HP.
  2. Multishot – When attacking with a bow-type weapon, fire 5 arrows at a certain angle at the same time.
  3. Quick Fire – When attacking using a bow-type weapon, increases action speed by 50% for 8 seconds.
  4. Quickshot – Hold three arrows in your shooting hand and fire them quickly in succession in a single action.
  5. True Shot – Projectile’s flight speed is greatly increased. In addition, physical attack power increases by 5%.

Dark and Darker: Fighter

Fighter: General description

Fighters are versatile warriors and can use almost any weapon.

  1. Weapon of choice: pretty much everything.
  2. Strengths: fighters can equip most weapons & armours, they have ability to sprint and well-rounded attributes.
  3. Weaknesses: they cannot cast any spells and highly depend on equipment.

Fighter Perks

  1. Barricade – when in a defensive stance, the defense rating bonus is increased by 15%
  2. Combo Attack – Physical attack power temporarily increases by 10% with each successful melee attack within 3 seconds.
  3. Counterattack – Successful defense increases the movement speed and attack speed by 10% for 3 seconds.
  4. Defense Expert – Increases AR acquired form armor by 10%.
  5. Dual Wield – Equipping weapons in both hands increases attack speed by 15%.
  6. Projectile Resistance – Reduces damage taken from projectiles by 10%.
  7. Shield Expert – Increases movement speed by 10% when in a defensive stance.
  8. Swift – Reduces the base movement speed penalty from equipped armor by -20%. Not applicable to additional modifiers.
  9. Weapon Mastery – All primary and secondary weapons are available regardless of class requirements. A 20% physical damage penalty is applied for all non-native weapons.

Fighter Skills

  1. Adrenaline Rush – Increases your attack speed by 25% for 8 seconds. After the duration ends, your attack and movement speed is temporary reduced for 6 seconds.
  2. Breakthrough – Removes debuffs that slow all movement speed.
  3. Second Wind – Recovers 50% of HP over 12 seconds. Additionally, it eliminates the side effects of the Adrenaline Rush skill.
  4. Sprint – Movement speed is greatly increased for a short duration.
  5. Taunt – Increases the aggro value to all monsters within a 7.5m area by 50% and increases your defensive rating bonus by 15% for 8 seconds.
  6. Victory Strike – The next attack deals an additional 20% weapon damage. If the target dies from this attack you recover 5% of your maximum HP.

Fighter Beginning Stats

  1. Strength – 15;
  2. Agility – 15;
  3. Will – 15;
  4. Knowledge – 15;
  5. Resourcefulness – 15;
  6. Health – 100.

Dark and Darker: Cleric

Cleric: General description

Clerics are warriors dedicated to serving the gods. During battle, they can summon divine powers.

  1. Weapon of choice: flanged mace;
  2. Strengths: clerics can cast healing and protective spells, they are able to equip some plate armour. They deal bonus damage to undead and are adepts with many blunt weapons.
  3. Weaknesses: they are slow (attack and interaction speed), they have low damage bonus.

Cleric Perks

  1. Advanced Healer – Increase your base magical heal by 5.
  2. Blunt Weapon Mastery – Increases physical attack power by 5% when attacking with blunt weapon.
  3. Brewmaster – You do not exhibit the detrimental drunk effects when you drink alcohol.
  4. Kindness – Heal yourself for 15% of the spell’s total heal amount when healing another target.
  5. Perseverance – Reduced all types of incoming damage by 3.
  6. Protection from Evil – The duration of all harmful effects is reduced by -50.
  7. Requiem – Ressurecting an ally revives them with 50% HP instead of a silver of life. When reviving an ally at the Altar of Sacrifice, you do not need to sacrifice any of your health.
  8. Undead Slaying – Increase your physical damage bonus by 20% when attacking undead monsters.

Cleric Skills

  1. Holy Purification – Inflicts 100 base magical damage to all undead monsters within 7.5 meters.
  2. Judgement – After focusing for 0.5 seconds, immediately deals 35 magic damage to target and reduces their movement speed bonus by 20% for 2 seconds. The spell can only be cast when the crosshair targets an enemy within 4.5m. Once Judgement starts casting on a target you will no longer need to continue targeting the crosshair. If the target goes out of range during casting, the casting fails.
  3. Smite – Deals an additional +10 magic damage to all enemies you hit within 7 seconds.
  4. Spell Memory (1 and 2) – Allows you to memorize spells to use in the dungeon.

  1. Strength – 13;
  2. Agility – 12;
  3. Will – 30;
  4. Knowledge – 12;
  5. Resourcefulness – 8;
  6. Health – 96;
  7. Spell memory – 12.

Dark and Darker: Barbarian

Barbarian: General description

Barbarians are tough and ferocious warriors. They are ideal for charging at the enemy.

  1. Weapon of choice: anything heavy-duty;
  2. Strengths: Barbarians have innate magic resistance, damage bonus with 2H weapons and extreme Health.
  3. Weaknesses: they are very slow (base movement speed, attack speed, interaction speed).

Barbarian Perks

  1. Axe Specialization – Adds +10 weapon damage to your axe attacks.
  2. Berserker – The lower your remaining HP, the higher your physical attack power. Each loss of 10% health from your max HP gives 3% more physical attack power up to a max bonus of 30% physical attack power.
  3. Carnage – Strength increases by +10 for 7 seconds when a target is killed.
  4. Iron Will – Increases magic resistance rating by 100.
  5. Morale Boost – Recovers 12% HP after killing a player.
  6. Savage – Physical damage bonus increases by 10% when not wearing any chest armor.
  7. Smash – Ability to destroy unreinforced doors and sturdy containers. Also increases the impact power of your attacks +1 to better defeat blocks and parries.
  8. Toughness – HP increased by 10%
  9. Two Handed Weapon Expert – Increases physical attack power by 5% when attacking with a two-handed weapon.

Barbarian Skills

  • Rage – Strength is greatly increased and movement speed is increased by 15% while defense is reduced by -20% for a short duration.
  • Reckless Attack – The next hit ignores 75% of your enemy’s defense. Your aggressiveness results in a -55 armor rating. The buff consumed when an attack hits an object or a target.
  • Savage roar – Frightens all enemies within a 7.5m range radius for 6 seconds reducing their physical damage bonuses by -25%.
  • War Cry – Increase the maximum HP of yourself and nearby allies by 25% for 7 seconds.

Barbarian Beginning Stats

  1. Strength – 30;
  2. Agility – 11;
  3. Will – 18;
  4. Knowledge – 6;
  5. Resourcefulness – 10;
  6. Health – 130.
