Do the companions' plots hide any more secrets? Apparently so - one of them was learned by less than 600 players.
The day has finally come! Yesterday marked the second anniversary of Baldur’s Gate 3 by Larian Studios, a game that has already secured its place among this decade's best. Players keep returning to Faerun, exploring new paths, revisiting cut content, and experimenting with a variety of - sometimes wild - mods.
The game’s anniversary proved to be the perfect moment for the developers to share some new statistics - and as it turns out, they’re still full of surprises. One particularly rare storyline came to light - unlocked by only a handful of players, and notably involving Wyll.
One ending that caught many Baldur’s Gate fans by surprise is the option to adopt a child with Wyll. Only 598 players have unlocked this scenario - a tiny fraction of the community - so it’s no surprise that most fans are stunned. This only reinforces Swen Vincke’s claim, in which he revealed that Baldur’s Gate 3 features 17,000 minor variations of the epilogue.

What do you MEAN you can adopt a child with Wyll and how have only 600 people done it.
Swen said there are 17k thousands of ending variations. We're just beginning to discover some rarely seen stuff
The Reddit thread drew in several of the 598 players who started a family with Wyll - and whether they planned to or not, it’s clear this particular ending is rare for a reason. The key requirement - beyond romancing Wyll - is ensuring he becomes the Grand Duke. This, in turn, leads to the tragic conclusion of Karlach’s storyline, as she chooses death over returning to Avernus alone.
In theory, it’s possible to "save" our favorite tiefling by letting her transform into a Mind Flayer or by experimenting with multiplayer - but that’s not a route every player is willing to take. Still, there’s something undeniably touching about the idea of starting a family with Wyll. One fan even shared a snippet of this epilogue.
For those who can't watch Her name is Lily Aurora and she was found at the Open Hand Temple. She's got one brown eye and one grey eye (like act one Wyll). It's all very sweet.
What do you think about such an ending for Wyll and the protagonist? Will you be trying to boost the statistics Larian shared with us? Or maybe you prefer seeing Karlach and The Blade of Frontiers journeying through hell together?
