Ready or Not devs explained the reasons for censoring the PC version of the game and assured that fans will be able to reverse this with mods.
At the end of June, Void Interactive studio infuriated its fans by announcing the censorship of the most controversial elements of the tactical shooter Ready or Not. Somewhat later, it also turned out what this censorship looked like.
The reason is the upcoming console version for PS5 and XSX/S. In order for the game to be released on these platforms, the creators had to make some changes to it. What annoyed the players was the fact that these changes would also be introduced in the PC version. Now the developers have decided to once again explain the reasons for this decision.
We will see if these solutions will appease the players. Their anger is indeed great, on Steam, due to review bombing, only 22% of the reviews from the last 30 days are positive, which the platform categorizes as a "mostly negative" reception of the game. For comparison: out of all the reviews published in this store since the release of Ready or Not, 81% praise this title.
The console versions of the game will launch on July 15th, which is next Tuesday. Currently, Ready or Not can be purchased with a 50 percent discount on Steam Summer Sale for $24.99. The offer expires tomorrow evening.
