Dome Keeper is a game difficult to categorize. The gameplay is divided into 2 stages – you have to dig for resources and treasures in one of them, in the other you need to defend your base against various hostile creatures. The unique gameplay attracted thousands of players. Currently, the title is exclusively available on PC. However, players are eager to know if it will eventually make its way to platforms like Xbox, Switch, PS4 or PS5. Let's explore this possibility.
Dome Keeper – Is Console Release possible?
In today's gaming world, it's typical for many titles, particularly those with substantial budgets like AA and AAA games, to launch simultaneously across various platforms. However, Dome Keeper is not part of this trend. Presently, it's solely accessible on PC. Although many successful games eventually broaden their availability to include consoles post-full release, the path for Dome Keeper is different for now.
There is a FAQ on Steam in which the developer has responded to several noteworthy player queries, including those pertaining to the possibility of console versions:

Of course, this response is not very informative. However, it is not the only FAQ which exists. In a different one, we can see that:

TLDR: probably, eventually
Nothing planned right now, but we think Dome would be great on Switch! For now we focus on expanding Dome, and then look into ports.
There is also a comment on official Discord server left by one of the developers (Rene), which states that console release is possible in around a year after majority of work over the game will be finished. The recent big update of Dome Keeper was on October 5. It means that port will be no sooner than the end of next year or even 2025.

So, if the release is possible, on which platforms the game will be released? According to the statement on Discord, Switch is the most probable option. What is more, developer does not exclude Xbox, especially if the game would be in Game Pass. However, according to Rene, PlayStation is the least likely possibility.
For now, fans have to wait patiently and be ready for an official announcement.
