Dying Light 2 Devs Reassure Fans and Promise Exciting News

Techland confirmed Pawel Selinger's departure from the team, but informed that in fact had not been the art director and lead writer of Dying Light 2 for some time. It was also promised that exciting news about the game will soon be revealed.

A few days ago we informed that Pawel Selinger, the art director and lead writer of Dying Light 2, has left Techland. This caused concern about the fate of the project among the fans, so the company decided to reassure them by issuing a statement on the matter.

Singer's departure was confirmed, but it we were assured that it would not affect Dying Light 2, as the developer had not been the game's art director and lead writer for some time now. Eric Cochonneau has been responsible for the game's visuals side since 2019. In turn, in October 2020 Piotr Szymanek took over the duties concerning the narrative aspect, who previously worked on HBO shows, e.g. he led a group of scriptwriters and co-authored most of the episodes of Polish show The Border.

It seems that Selinger's departure from the team was not sudden and the studio managed to make the necessary preparations it, so that the development cycle was not affected.

At the same time, Techland promised to share some exciting news about Dying Light 2 soon . We hope that this will include revealing the release date.

We have been waiting for the game for a very long time. Initially, the launch was supposed to take place in 2019, but the project has suffered a series of delays. It is currently unclear whether the title will be released in 2021. We hope it will, but the recent problems with Cyberpunk 2077 once again showed that it is better not to release a game before it is truly completed.
