Spotted on a now-removed page on EA's website, Battlefield 6 pre-orders will become unavailable on October 10th, and that might only mean one thing.
Today, following the reveal trailer for Battlefield 6, which featured five helicopter crashes in two minutes, it is possible that the release date was accidentally revealed. Users on Reddit spotted a date on EA’s Battlefield 6 game disclaimers page, and one line stuck out: “This pre-sell promotional offer expires October 10th, 2025.” The Reddit post pointing this out also shared a link, which now appears to have been taken down. There’s no guarantee this is correct, or that the game won’t be delayed, but EA taking the page down certainly lends more credibility to the validity of the rumors.
With EA’s page taken down, it’s hard to double-check the exact details. However, based on information provided by Reddit users and also suggested by a known insider at Dealabs, Billbil-kun, the rumors indicate a release date in October. This appears to be the day that pre-orders will no longer be available, which can only really mean one thing, right?
Rumors also suggest that an open beta will take place in August, providing all interested players with the opportunity to try Battlefield 6 for themselves. Over the last few months, private beta tests have been conducted, but that hasn’t stopped gameplay from leaking several times. The series is expected to revive the massive battle scenarios for which it is known, while also introducing a battle royale mode and featuring a story mode campaign.
This edition of Battlefield has been in development since 2021 and has introduced some changes to the process. The last edition of the series was Battlefield 2042, developed by DICE in 2021. This time, though, DICE is joined by Motive, Criterion Games, and Ripple Effect to make Battlefield Studios, which is why DICE doesn’t appear at the beginning of today’s trailer.
For now, this October 10th release date is still a rumor. It might be a leak, but we’re still not sure that it is, in fact, the release date. There’s always the possibility that the “pre-sell promotional offer” expires on that date for some other reason. However unlikely it might seem.
We can expect to learn more about Battlefield 6 next week, on July 31st, during the multiplayer reveal teased in the reveal trailer. Chances are it’s still too early to learn about the release date during that presentation, especially if EA isn’t confident it will be ready by then, but it could at least give fans a date for the open beta.
