Cyberpunk 2077 has undergone significant alterations in its recent update, referred to as version 2.0, which coincides with the introduction of the Phantom Liberty DLC. This expansion introduces fresh storylines and a new district to explore. Unfortunately, numerous players have encountered challenges during their gameplay, which are audio problems, bugs, technical hiccups such as frequent crashes, and the frustrating presence of issues that make certain quests impossible to complete. However, among them, a peculiar one has surfaced, where V may become very lonely in the Night City. There is a bug which makes the city empty, and not many NPCs can be seen around. Let’s talk about it.

Empty City in Cyberpunk 2077, no NPC spawning bug explained

Version 2.0 is a great step for Cyberpunk 2077. It introduces many great changes, but also reintroduces some old bugs and implements new ones. One of them makes the city empty except from some talking NPCs, police officers and criminals.

The fans have pinpointed the probable cause of the problem – it’s the Moving Heat quest (but it may be not the only source of the bug). Completing it, triggers the issue for many players.

Luckily, there is an easy fix to that, as it is enough to reload an old save (but it does not work always). However, you may also try to complete one of the main quests, as it helped many players to repopulate Night City.
