Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty Preload Launches on Consoles; Players Report Issues
PS5 and Xbox Series X/S console owners can now download the Phantom Liberty DLC for Cyberpunk 2077. However, many people are having trouble installing it.
The highly anticipated storyDLC for Cyberpunk 2077 will debut tomorrow. Gamers who will want to explore Dogtown right after release may be interested in preloading the game. Console owners can already download Phantom Liberty, if, of course, they pre-ordered the expansion.
Preload on PS5 and XSX/S
As announced earlier, a preload of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty on current-gen consoles (i.e. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S) was launched last night. Unfortunately, PC owners will have to wait - the preload option on PC is not expected to be available until tomorrow, the day of the release.
Phantom Liberty weighs 33 GB on PS5, 38 GB on Xbox Series X/S, and 24 GB on PC The base game should take up about 60-70 GB (on consoles), so in total you need to prepare about 100 GB of free disk space.
Problems for kit owners
Under a post by Marcin Momot, Community Director at CD Projekt RED, regarding the preload launch on consoles, many players have complained about the problem with installing the expansion. When trying to download the files, some PS5 owners see an error called "CE-107880-4." The problem affects those who have purchased Phantom Liberty as a bundle with the base game. Developers have apologized for the situation and explained that players who purchased the bundle on Sony consoles will only be able to download the expansion tomorrow.
Recall that the DLC is bundled with the free update 2.0 for Cyberpunk 2077, which was released a few days ago. The update introduced many changes to the game (including in the combat system or police), and Phantom Liberty will offer additional content, including: a new story, quests, region, weapons, cars or implants. Update 2.0 and the upcoming DLC will not be available on previous-gen consoles, namely PS4 and XOne.
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty will debut on September 26 at 1 a.m. CEST on PC and at midnight local time on PS5 and XSX/S.
