Eternal Strands will hit PC, PS5 and XSX/S players today, and industry media have already published the first reviews.
Today marks the release of Eternal Strands by Mike Laidlaw, the developer of the first three installments of the Dragon Age series. At 08:00 a.m. PT, the first project of Yellow Brick Games studio will become available on personal computers (on Steam and in the Epic Games Store) as well as on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
The game will cost $39.99 on all platforms.
Eternal Strands probably won't compete for the Game of the Year title, but Yellow Brick Games studio managed to deliver a fine game. Reviewers appreciated above all the battles with huge bosses, which many critics compared to the iconic giants from Shadow of the Colossus, but which give more room for creative players to show off. The audiovisual presentation also received a lot of praise, including the soundtrack composed by Austin Wintory.
On the downside, journalists mention the game's story - whether it's the pace of the narration or the fact that it has more to do with the background story than the actual plot. Some reviewers are also not thrilled with the combat system and, in their opinion, the uninteresting progression of equipment.
