ETS2 and ATS Multiplayer Received Mod Support

The multiplayer mode in Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator finally enables us to play with mods, but with some limitations.

The beta testing that began in September is over: update 1.42 is now available in Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator. Few, but significant changes have been discussed on SCS Software's official website.

Undoubtedly the most important is the addition of support for fan-made mods in Convoy, the online mode in ETS2 and ATS. Multiplayer has been available in both games since July, although even now it is still somewhat of a test version. One of the missing elements was the ability to play with mods, but already in August it was announced that such a feature would be added. The developers have been working on solving problems with, among others, synchronizing sessions of players using different mods.

So far Convoy enables you to run no more than 70 mods at once, The developers have introduced related innovations in the user interface. Thanks to them we can check if a given server is using mods, which ones are required, and if we have them installed. If not, the missing mods can be downloaded from Steam Workshop directly from within the game (if they are available there).

In addition to the above feature (which will be further refined, by the way), SCS Software has also worked on the force feedback of steering wheels and other controllers. The developers have put together a new system that combines existing effects with changes to "centering and tire friction based on real-world calculations of the forces acting on the first steering axle, and simulates the behavior of the hydraulic steering gear system used on most modern trucks. At the same time, it was recommended to reset the existing FFB-related settings.
