Today marks the release of Evil West, a Wild West TPP action game with vampires, developed by the Polish studio Flying Wild Hog. The title is collecting good reviews, although it does not impress visually or technically.
Polish studio Flying Wild Hog is not idel and today it released its third game this year. After the decent Shadow Warrior 3 and Trek to Yomi it was the turn of Evil West - based on the Wild West concept, a TPP action game with vampires in the background. Was this title also successful?
As you already know from our previous post, the feedback from industry experts is moderately positive. On individual platforms Evil West can boast the following average ratings (via Metacritic.com):
As for gamers, at the time I am writing these words, on Steam Evil West is played by less than 3,000 people. The title appealed to 81% of the more than 250 users of Valve's platform, who decided to give the game review.
It is worth mentioning here that the game was also released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Significantly, console edition is more expensive than the PC one. You have to pay full price for the former, while the latter is $10 cheaper ($49.99).
If you decide to buy the game - especially the cheaper PC version - you should not be disappointed by its length. The developer has declared for it takes between 10 and 15 hours to complete Evil West's story campaign. The time can be further extended by collecting all the extras, performing side activities or completing achievements.
For those interested Evil West on PC I am also posting - as a reminder - hardware requirements of the game. They are not too high, so the game should work well not only on new, but also on slightly older computers.
As for consoles, you can choose from the following graphics modes:
