FIFA Responds to EA's Move; New Footbal Game Series Announced

Yesterday the news broke that after many years the FIFA series dies and the EA Sports FC series is born in its place. The statement of death may have been a bit premature, however.

FIFA will still be present on the sports game market, but Electronic Arts will no longer be responsible for games from this brand.

FIFA goes on its own

EA has decided to change the name of its profitable series from FIFA to EA Sports FC. This stipulation will come into full effect in 2023.

However, the FIFA organization has assured that it intends to launch its own series of video games signed with the popular name. The federation has shared the first information on this topic.

• FIFA will work with third-party studios and publishers to help with the project.
• The first full-fledged game aspiring to be the best soccer simulation is to debut on the market in 2024.
• However, work is already underway on several smaller and more casual titles.
• The first of these will debut later in the third quarter of this year, and one of the games will focus on the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.
• There are also plans to develop a game linked to the upcoming Women's World Cup.

Ambitious plans of the federation

FIFA representatives claim that their project is an ambitious undertaking. The parallel brand to the EA series is to offer players more choice.

The president of the federation Gianni Infantino personally referred to the matter.

So, it looks like interesting times are coming for football fans. How the federation's project will turn out in reality, we'll probably find out in a few months.
