Criticized Forspoken Will be Overhauled

Luminous Productions has announced that it is working on a major patch for Forspoken to improve graphics, performance and gameplay.

Forspoken, the first high-budget release of 2023, turned out to be a rather controversial work. Now the creators have announced that they intend to make many changes for the better soon. The next patch will introduce improvements in such issues as:

  1. performance,
  2. graphics,
  3. gameplay.

We can also expect bug fixes. The changes will be largely based on player suggestions that the developers have received since the game's release. Unfortunately, for now, the devs are not ready to give a release date for this update.

We will remind you that Forspoken debuted on January 24, this year. The game is available on PC and PlayStation 5.

The reception of the game turned out to be quite cold, especially considering the fact that the title came from the Japanese studio Luminous Productions, authors of the excellent Final Fantasy XV. On OpenCritic Forspoken has an average rating of 68%.

On Steam, on the other hand, only 59% of user reviews praise the game, which is categorized as a "mixed" reception. So we wonder if the announced patch will improve the situation. The project has a lot of technical issues and very high system requirements, so in these matters an update could do a lot. The problem is that the title is also criticized for its boring world and poor storyline, and this is unlikely to be fixed by any patches.
