Forza Horizon 5 Crashes to Desktop Due to One of Discord Functions

Discord and Forza Horizon 5 have a small problem - the game crashes when screen sharing. So far the problem has not been patched, but players ruch to remedy the situation.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. Discord's screen sharing feature makes Forza Horizon 5 crash;
  2. The problem also affects other streaming software;
  3. Before the official patch came out, players solved the problem using Discord Canary.

Forza Horizon 5 is, without a shadow of a doubt, an amazing game that some gamers wanted to show off to their friends using Discord's screen sharing feature. However, this turned out to be more difficult than it might have seemed, as at a crucial moment Forza would instantly crash.. This problem affects both the version offered on Steam, as well as that from Microsoft Store.

"I wanted to stream the game [Forza Horizon 5 - ed. note] via Discord, but as soon as I turned on the 'share screen' option, the game crashed. Same thing happened twice with 'alt-tabbing', anyone have similar issues?," wrote u/sebastian240z in a subreddit Forza Horizon

As it turned out - yes. Many players also experienced a clash between Forza and Discord. While there is no official solution for this problem yet, it has already been included in the list of reported bugs. So we can expect that soon we will receive a patch that will fix this problem. Interestingly, the list of problematic apps also includes programs such as OBS, Xsplit and MSI Afterburner - less popular, but also used for recording and streaming content.

If you don't want to wait until a fix is available, you have two options - follow the guide created by one of the users (it assumes using Discord and OBS) or install Discord Canary, the developer version of the messenger.

  1. Forza Horizon 5 on Steam
  2. Forza Horizon 5 on Microsoft Store
