Free Warhammer: Vermintide 2 Attracted Crowds of Players

From November 3 to 7, Warhammer: Vermintide 2 was available for free download on Steam. The unique offer tempted many players, who installed the game in throves. This is how devs at Fatshark celebrated the seventh anniversary of Tide and the upcoming debut of the new game.

For the past few days, Swedish studio Fatshark has been offering its four-year-old action game Warhammer: Vermintide 2 for free. The game was available for free on Steam from November 3 to 7. The opportunity to get acquainted with the title for free encouraged a huge number of players. Within 4 days the game was downloaded by as many as 10 million people.

Giveaways are successful marketing

The game appeared for free on the occasion of the imminent release of Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, a game based on the formula known from Vermitide 2, and the 7th anniversary of the Tide series. The result that the four-year-old Warhammer achieved on Steam, inspires respect and admiration. Certainly Fatshark can talk about a success and a well-executed marketing plan before the release of the new game.

This is not the end of promotions

Although the giveaway ended on November 7, the studio is still continuing its promotional campaigns. On Steam Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is now available with an 80% discount. On the other hand, the version with DLCs is available with a 73% discount. In addition, a DLC has been made available, adding, among other things, a new map. There was also a patch fixing bugs and upgrading the game to version 4.8. Thus, it can be seen that the Swedish studio, while working on new game, cares about its heritage, not leaving players in need.
