The teaser showcases 12 characters, most of whom have been referenced in lore but never formally revealed. The lineup includes:
For longtime Genshin Impact fans, the reveal of Alice and Varka is a huge deal. Alice, who was first mentioned back in 2020 as Klee’s eccentric mother and the author of the Teyvat Travel Guide, has always been shrouded in mystery. Her ethereal, almost otherworldly look in the teaser only added to the intrigue surrounding her.

Varka, the absent Grand Master whose letters have been delivered through Jean, shows up looking battle-worn and weathered. A true veteran of countless battles.
A Reddit post quickly exploded with fan theories and excitement. Many believe some of these characters will become playable during the Nod-Krai storyline, while others might play key narrative roles similar to characters like Dainsleif or Nahida.
The teaser’s mix of Fatui Harbingers, legendary figures from Teyvat’s lore, and brand-new faces has stirred up intense speculation about what the next chapter of Genshin Impact’s story will bring. It’s clear the game is preparing for one of its most ambitious narrative expansions yet.
The new Nod-Krai region, featuring all these new characters, is expected to launch later this year. Although no official release date has been announced, the update should arrive around October.

Been with gamepressure.com since 2019, mostly writing game guides but you can also find me geeking out about LEGO (huge collection, btw). Love RPGs and classic RTSs, also adore quirky indie games. Even with a ton of games, sometimes I just gotta fire up Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, KOTOR, or Baldur's Gate 2 (Shadows of Amn, the OG, not that Throne of Bhaal stuff). When I'm not gaming, I'm probably painting miniatures or admiring my collection of retro consoles.
