Hideo Kojima Responds to Concerns About Microsoft Cooperation

Hideo Kojima referred to the astonishment of fans, caused by the announcement of cooperation with Microsoft. The creator assured that he still retains a good relationship with Sony.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • Hideo Kojima commented on his recent decision to partner with Microsoft.
  • His studio will continue to have a good relationship with Sony.
  • The company simply does not intend to limit itself in the selection of partners.

The Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase brought us some surprises. One of the biggest was the announcement of cooperation between Microsoft and Hideo Kojima.

This caused quite a shock among some of the creator's fans (as expressed, among others, by a petition for cancelation of the announced game), because until now he was associated with Sony. The developer decided to comment on the whole situation.

Between Sony and Microsoft

Hideo Kojima assured, via the Twitter account of his studio Kojima Productions, that the cooperation with Microsoft will not adversely affect relations with Sony. The company is supposed, he explains, to be an independent entity that does not intend to limit itself in the selection of partners.

So it seems that Kojima simply values his independence and does not intend to be tied to one company for better or worse. His studio will work with a variety of companies as needed.

This shouldn't come as a surprise since, as also noted in the above post, this company doesn't just make video games. Kojima Productions also intends to experiment in the field of film as well as music.
