Hideo Kojima's New Project to Shake up Both Game and Movie Industries

Hideo Kojima's new project is expected to be more than just a video game. The Japanese creator wants his work to shake up the movie industry as well.

Creator of Death Stranding wants to shake up more than just the game industry. Hideo Kojima's dream project is to be like a whole new medium that will transform both video games and movies.

The famous Japanese creator spoke about his ambitions in an interview with "The Guardian" newspaper. He reiterated once again that he has dreamed of creating such a video game (?) for many years, but it is only now that technological advances will enable him to make these plans a reality:

"It’s almost like a new medium. If this succeeds, it will turn things around – not just in the game industry, but in the movie industry as well."

The biggest challenge is expected to be the creation of a suitable infrastructure, because, according to Kojima's statement, there have been successful experiments, but there is still a long way to go from that to putting the idea into "widespread use." However, the Japanese developer wants to remain a step ahead of potential competition.

Kojima Productions is currently working on two projects. The first is a sequel to Death Stranding. The second is to be the horror game Overdose, admittedly still unannounced, but sort of confirmed by the developer and developed in partnership with Xbox Game Studios.

Probably related to the latter title are teasers recently posted on the Internet by Hideo Kojima. So far, only the involvement of Elle Fanning and a second, as yet undisclosed actress in the project has been revealed in this way . Some fans believe it is about Margaret Qualley. We are still waiting for confirmation of this speculation.
