Dark Souls Creator Calls Elden Ring the Best FromSoftware Game Ever

Elden Ring will be FromSoftware's best game according to its director Hidetaka Miyazaki. The father of the Souls series calls the upcoming title the culmination of everything the studio has created to date.

In 57 days we will finally be able to play Elden Ring. Some players have already had the opportunity to test FromSoftware's upcoming title, but the vast majority - especially PC owners - still have to wait for their turn. A lot of text and video previews have appeared online (see below), but if they didn't convince you to the new game from the devs of the Souls series, maybe the words of its father, Hidetaki Miyazaki, will. In an interview with Edge magazine he stated that it will be the best game in the history of his team.

Access to the issue of the magazine in which you can read the interview with Miyazaki is behind a paywall, but thanks to PCGamesN, we know that dev himself called Elden Ring:

"A culmination of everything we’ve done with the Dark Souls series and with our games so far."

This was followed by a question that would probably come to anyone's mind after such words. Will Elden Ring be FromSoftware's best game? Hidetaka Miyazaki tried to beat around the bush here - emphasizing how much the studio has grown over the years - but ultimately his answer was affirmative.

"We are always trying to top ourselves and make the best game we can. It’s not just limited to Elden Ring, of course, it applies to all of our titles. It’s safe to say that we could have only made Elden Ring now, after all, that. So in that sense, yes, I believe it will be our best game to date."

Fans of FromSoftware's titles who have taken a close look at the available gameplay videos will have noticed that Elden Ring features elements from the Souls series, as well as Bloodborne and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. In other words, it's going to be a real feast for soulslike lovers. As a reminder - Elden Ring will be released on February 25, 2022 on PC, PS4, PS5, XOne and XSX|S.
