The series has been planned for only 2 series and the events of the finale are to merge with the beginning of the Rogue One movie, which means that there will be no more stories about Cassian to tell. Season 2 will exhaust the possibilities until the very end, as Star Wars series creator Tony Gilroy has planned the new season in such a way that its action will take place over 4 years, with one year jumps every 3 episodes. This means that this season will receive 12 episodes.

So, after Andor's season 2 ends, fans will be left to watch the film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which depicts the further fate of Cassian Andor. It is him that can be treated as a continuation of the series, although it was made first.
