Ancient Exostryder in Rimworld

To play as a Mechanitor, there are several steps to follow.

  1. To begin with, you need to find Ancient Exostryder and destroy its middle section to acquire the Mechanoid Transponder.
  2. Then you need to go with the item to the Research Bench in order to decrypt it.
  3. After that you will be able to complete a task in which a ship crashes on the planet. There you will find the corpse of the Mechanitor, which will be guarded by mechs.
  4. Defeat the mechs and take from the corpse an item named Mechlink. Now you can implant it in yourself and thus become a Mechanitor capable of controlling mechanoids.

There is also another possibility to become a Mechanitor. Sometimes during the game you can come across a quest that tells you about the Ancient Complex. While exploring it, you will find a Mechanitor, and as a result, you will be able to obtain a Mechlink, which you can implant for yourself.

Finally, it is worth noting that a character who is deaf cannot become a Mechanitor.
