The good news is that developers from id Software are aware of at least some factors causing crashes, and they give us a few tips.

1. Some players with NVIDIA GPUs who installed 576.40 drivers may experience crashes. Solution offered by developers is to reboot the system and reinstall drivers.
2. At the same time, if you are having this problem, and have not installed the new drivers after Doom the Dark Ages release, do that. Yes, something which causes problems for some can fix it for others. However, it is recommended to use advanced options during the process and perform clean installation.
3. Gamers who have RTX 50 series with enabled V-Sync or G-Sync plus Multi Frame Generation in NVIDIA Control Panel can also experience crashes. The solution here is to turn off these options and enable them in-game.
4. Traditionally in such cases, you should disable overlays like Nvidia, Discord, Afterburner or RivaTuner, as they are known to cause stability issues (especially the last two).

5. Graphics: NVIDIA or AMD hardware Raytracing-capable GPU with 8GB dedicated VRAM or better (examples: NVIDIA RTX 2060 SUPER or better, AMD RX 6600 or better).
6. 100 GB available space.
7. NVME SSD storage required.
