How to Transfer Character in New World Aeternum, Problems Explained
As New World has been updated, many fans would like to transfer their characters. If you encounter problems, you are not the only one. Here you will learn what you need to know.
Amazon has taken decisive steps to venture into the gaming industry. Recently we have seen the debut of rather successful free-to-play MMORPG Throne and Liberty, and now, after 3 years of live development and test period, New World has been updated with a major content patch entitled Aeternum, adjusting many features. Additionally, the latter has made its way onto the current generation consoles, allowing a new wave of players to explore this universe. Of course, it includes cross play, so now, many fans might want to transfer their characters to a different server to help out their friends. Here you will learn how to do it.
Transferring character in New World Aeternum explained
New world has been available for players for 2 years now, steadily losing players on the way, yet now it has a chance to see an increase in activity, as Aeternum, an overhaul that released just recently, opened the game for consoles. With a growing playerbase, it’s natural that some fans would like to transfer their characters. Doing so is a multi-staged process. If you are sure of your decision, you have to:
- Log in and move to a sanctuary unless you are there. This means a settlement or an outpost,
- Make sure that you leave your company and remove any active buy or sell orders (Trading Posts),
- Open Store menu, choose Character Transfer tab and purchase transfer token if you haven’t already,
- With the token acquired, go to World Transfer menu, select your region and choose available world from the transfer list,
- With the transfer confirmed, you will be logged out to the main menu. From there, you are free to log in again and continue playing in the newly transferred world.
Bear in mind that transferring characters is not unrestricted! It can be impossible to move your avatar if:
- The server you try to join is full,
- The world that you would like to move to is destined for new characters only,
- Maintenance is ongoing at the server that you have chosen.
- Servers are in different regions. You can pick other regions to transfer to, but not a server, this one is randomized. Only being in a given region, can you pick a specific server.
It’s also worth noting that you will be locked out from transferring if you have changed the servers in the last 24 hours. For more detailed information, you can refer to the official support site.
Hopefully, with the information provided, you will be able to move your hero successfully. It’s an important functionality as MMORPGs are all about getting with your friends and adventuring together. Have fun!
