Former BioWare CEO Casey Hudson Establishes a New Studio

Casey Hudson, former CEO of BioWare, announced on Twitter the establishmet of his new studio, Humanoid. The company will be working on an original IP.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. Casey Hudson, former CEO of BioWare, has announced the establishment of a new devteam, Humanoid Studios;
  2. The company will be working on a new IP; the developers are currently looking for employees.

Yesterday, former CEO at BioWare - Casey Hudson - announced on Twitter the creation of Humanoid Studios. According to the announcement, the independent development team will deal with something completely fresh. As you may remember Hudson is mostly known for his work on the Mass Effect trilogy, as well as Star Wars: KOTOR.

Casey Hudson also admitted that "he and his colleagues are working on something amazing.". Unfortunately, he did not reveal anything more. From his words, however, we can deduce that the new project is supervised by, among others, former BioWare employees. Currently Humanoid Studios is looking for staff. On the studio's website we can find announcements concerning i.e. senior gameplay designer, senior creative director, an artist dealing with 3D design or a level designer. The description of the new company, which encourages recruitment, reads:

"[The company - ed. note], founded by Casey Hudson and talented developers from around the world, we combine excellence in the arts with advanced sciences to deliver the future of interactive entertainment.

We believe in hiring great people, empowering them with the best tools and a supportive environment, and providing them the creative freedom to do their best work.

We are building something special, and we invite you to join us."

We look forward to more details, as this interesting project could yield some really good games over time.
