Many people may not remember this, given how different Pedro Pascal looked in this film, but he starred in Wonder Woman 1984. In Patty Jenkins' film, he played the villain Maxwell Lord, and although he claims to “love” the film itself, he cannot say the same about his role.

This is because Pascal still can't stand his own appearance in the production. His clean-shaven face still haunts him, and he dislikes it so much that he has never returned to this look in any other production. And he has no plans to change that unless he has a really good reason to do so.

He talked about it in LADbible's Agree to Disagree video.

I grow such s**t facial hair, but if I were to shave it all off… I really look very [awful]. Strongly disagree with a clean shaven me. I was so appalled by the way I look in Wonder Woman 1984. I loved the movie, but I was so appalled by the way that I looked that I never have gone back unless it were completely necessary. If they asked me to be clean shave for Fantastic Four and insisted then I would’ve done it. But it was a very collaborative creation for all of our looks in the movie.

Fortunately for Pedro Pascal, no such request was made, and the actor was able to play Reed Richards with his characteristic facial hair, which he sports in most of the productions in which he appears. According to Pascal, determining how the characters in The Fantastic Four: First Steps would look on screen was “a very collaborative creation,” meaning that the actors had a say in how they wanted their characters to be portrayed. And it's possible that Pedro Pascal was in favor of facial hair for Reed.
