Pedro Pascal had a few “angels” in his life, to whom, by his own admission, he owes much in his life and acting career.
Pedro Pascal is currently one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood. We recently saw him in The Last of Us season 2, before that he was also in Gladiator, and any day now we will see him in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The actor is well liked by audiences and praised by critics, resulting in more roles in productions that are in high demand.
However, success didn’t come to him suddenly. The actor worked hard for it, feeling unnoticed for years. It was difficult enough for him that in an interview with Vanity Fairy he admitted that he considered giving up his acting career to become a nurse or theatre teacher (via AdoroCinema). He was dissuaded from the idea by friends who believed in him and cheered him on in his career, and supported him to cope and get through the difficult times.
In my 30s, I was supposed to have a career. Past 29 without a career meant that it was over, definitely. Basically, everybody took care of me, well into my 30s. I had angels around me the whole time.
One of those angels was Sarah Paulson, who confessed in an interview with Esquire that she shared money with him so that Pascal would survive during a difficult period before his career took off for good.
He’s talked about this publicly, but there were times when I would give him my per diem from a job I was working on so that he could have money to feed himself.
The support of those close to him helped him get to where he is today. Thanks to them, Pascal didn’t give up acting and was finally able to share his talent with the world. The turning point in his career was the role of Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones, thanks to which he attracted the attention of a global audience, instantly becoming one of the audience's favorites. After that TV series came other roles that helped his career and brought him to where he is today, which included appearances in The Mandalorian and The Last of Us.
