Skippy is an intelligent weapon that can be found in Cyberpunk 2077. Its unique personality makes many players abandon Machine Gun quest in order to keep it intact.
Cyberpunk 2077 offers numerous unique and characteristic weapons (many of you probably know Mantis Blades). However, there is one gun that has not only a memorable design but also a unique personality. Not surprisingly, it is loved by the community.
Warning! The news contains spoilers. You read it at your own risk.
Skippy is an intelligent pistol that you can acquire in the early stage of Cyberpunk 2077. If you look closely, you may find an undescribed quest mark in Vista del Rey, Heywood.
It will lead you to a small alley. You will find a body with a gun here. When you pick it up, weapon instantly introduces itself as Skippy. “He” will tell you that his memory was erased and ask you to choose one of two fire modes:
Skippy is quite a funny “character.” He often has something to say. For example, when you pick Stone Cold Killer mode, you can hear “According to traditional Christian Doctrine, you are going to burn in hell.” He also hums Disturbia by Rihanna. So, it's hard not to like him (at least for people who don’t hate this song).
This weapon is connected to the Machine Gun quest. When you reach one of two things – 50 killings or 50 incapacitations, the quest will start. There is a slight difference in his dialog and outcome, depending on the mode. However, both paths will lead you to the next stage. After another 50 victims (100 in total), you will learn that Skippy belongs to Regina Jones. At this point, you can bring him back to the fixer. This unfortunately ends poorly – Skippy is wiped out. You can later recover this weapo but without AI. Numerous people are disappointed with how his story ends. As a result, many players give up on completing this quest, only to keep original Skippy alive.
I also enjoy listening his comments, so I understand all those who want to protect this unique weapon. Skippy can really make you laugh at times, making Night City a better place.
