Jeff Bezos Goes to Space; Let's Watch the Launch of New Shepard

Former Amazon chief executive Jeff Bezos is one of the passengers on Blue Shepard. This is the first manned flight of this rocket, which is the beginning of Blue Origin's space tourism program.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • The rocket launch with Jeff Bezos on board is scheduled for July 20, 2021 at 6 AM PT.

Blue Origin's New Shepard rocket will launch today. This will be its first manned flight - if successful, it is to launch the agency's space tourism programme. The crew will include former Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, his brother Mark Bezos, pilot Wally Funk (a participant in the Mercury 13 program) and bidding participant Oliver Daemen (selected following the winner's resignation).

Live coverage of the New Shepard rocket flight is scheduled to begin at 4:30 AM PT. The launch is scheduled for 6 AM but some delays are possible. We invite you to watch and witness this historic moment with us:
