John Wick Will Attack the Game Market Again, This Time in AAA Format
Lionsgate is working to realize plans for a big-budget game starring John Wick. The company's CEO confirmed this at a recent meeting with investors.
John Wick is undoubtedly one of the more popular brands in recent years. The professional assassin has lived to see a total of four films, the latest of which - John Wick 4 - debuted in theaters in late March. The movie recorded a very good weekend after its release, raking in more than $130 million worldwide.
Not surprisingly, Lionsgate wants to continue developing the brand. This is to be helped by a AAA video game, the work on which is already underway. The first reports about the proposal to develop this project began to appear late last year, when Jon Feltheimer, CEO, revealed the label's initial plans. Now we can be sure that they will be implemented.
At a previous investors call this was confirmed by Joe Drake, president of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, who also touched on the issue of spin-offs.

"We are developing the brand, not only in the area of AAA games, but also through spin-offs, television contributes to the universe, and audiences have a steady appetite for new productions from the franchise," Joe Drake said.
Among the spin-offs mentioned are to be Ballerina (the story of a female assassin taking revenge for the murder of her family), whose premiere is scheduled for release in 2024, and The Continental, which tells the story of the origins of a hotel for assassins. In addition, John Wick 5 is also being developed.
