Key dev is leaving Dragon Age: The Veilguard team. Corinne Busche will depart company within weeks
The director of Dragon Age: The Veilguard is leaving BioWare. Corinne Busche has been with Electronic Arts for 18 years.

In December, one of the scriptwriters for the Dragon Age series left BioWare, and now we have learned that Corinne Busche is also bidding farewell to her colleagues on the team. She was the director of The Veilguard, which was released some time ago.
The first rumors of her departure began circulating as early as yesterday evening, but today they were finally confirmed by journalist Jeff Grubb. Eurogamer reported that the developer will leave BioWare within a few weeks.
Corinne Busche helped oversee the final stage of development for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, closely collaborating with John Epler. She took up the position of director in February 2022 and worked on the game until its release in October of the same year.
Apart from the latest Dragon Age, Busche worked as a designer and director for 18 years at Electronic Arts. She worked on many titles from The Sims series, including the third and fourth installments, as well as the mobile version.
It's also worth mentioning that rumors have started circulating that EA is planning to close the BioWare Edmonton studio in February. At the moment, they remain unverified, and in the previously mentioned report from Jeff Grubb, he stated that he doesn't find them credible.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard was released on October 31, 2024, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Unfortunately, we don't have any official information whether the game was a commercial success, but a rather quick discount may suggest that it was not. Currently, BioWare has shifted all its attention to Mass Effect 5.
