Radeon RX 6800's score in Basemark benchmark has appeared on the web. It looks like AMD's new design is faster than the competing GeForce RTX 3070.
IN A NUTSHELL:
An entry appeared in the Basemark Powerboard database showing the possible performance of the Radeon RX 6800, indicates that AMD's card is faster than the rival GeForce RTX 3070 - running on a PC equipped with Ryzen 9 3900X, it scored 14635 points in DirectX12 API and 13864 points in Vulkan API. For comparison, using the same CPU, RTX 3070 scored 13622 points (Vulkan) and 12998/13157 points (DirectX12, two tests were conducted).

Interestingly, RTX 3070 did much better in OpenGL 4.5 API, where it scored 11354 points (compared to Radeon's 5349 points) - it seems strange and may be related to some driver error. It is also worth noting that Basemark for some reason identified this AMD card as "Radeon 6900 series". - it is only the driver's data that indicate that this is actually the RX 6800.
These inaccuracies, combined with an unclear source of information, make it better to approach these reports with caution. If confirmed, Nvidia may have a serious rival in one of the most important market segments. We still have to wait a little bit longer for confirmed results - Radeon RX 6800 will appear on the market on November 18.
