Marvel Movie With Harrison Ford Awaits Pickups; Screenwriter of Renowned MCU Show Involved

Changing the name of the movie Captain America: New World Order to Captain America: Brave New World isn't the last thing that needed to be modified. It turns out that Marvel Studios has once again hired Matthew Orton to help with the production's finishing touches. The artist previously served in an advisory role on Moon Knight, which met with good reception from viewers (vide Deadline, ComicBookMovie).

The return to the set is expected to take place as early as spring 2024 and additional shooting could last until the summer, giving several months of work. Pickups are not unheard of in the movie industry, they often occur during the production of cycle. In the case of Captain America: Brave New World however, there were supposed to be leaks suggesting that the movie didn't do well during test screenings.

The filmmakers were said to have cut three major scenes and these will be shot from scratch. The problems, however, relate to the action sequences, and Matthew Orton is said to be responsible for writing them. The long work time, however, may suggest that Marvel is also preparing plot changes, which it simply does not want to announce. There are also doubts about the hiring of an outside screenwriter who was not on the project from the beginning, which may indicate that the movie has some problems.

Captain America: Brave New World will be Harrison Ford's debut in the MCU. The actor will play the role of Thaddeus Ross. Thus, he replaces William Hurt, who died in March 2022. The premiere is scheduled for February 14, 2025. The movie was postponed from 2024, which was mainly due to strikes by screenwriters and actors that lasted for several months.
