This New Epic Strategy Lets You Order Powerful Mechs to Obliterate Enemies

Mechabellum has recorded a successful debut on Steam. The game collects excellent reviews from players and entices with a low price.

Mechabellum, am auto-battler strategy game, whose publisher is Paradox, has debuted.

  1. The game was released exclusively on PC and is available in Steam Early Access.
  2. The game can be purchased for $12. This is a promotional price, reduced by 20% to celebrate the release. On May 18 it will be raised to $16.
  3. Early Access is expected to last about 12 months, but may be extended in response to player feedback.
  4. Version 1.0 will use a free-to-play model with microtransactions. All those who buy the game in Early Access will then receive a package of virtual gifts impossible to purchase for other players as a thank you.

Mechabellum's warm reception

The game is a so-called auto-battler, meaning it belongs to the category popularized by Auto Chess. In Mechabellum the fun is mainly in creating an army and then passively watching how our force of large robots deals with enemies.

  1. Mechabellum has clearly appealed to gamers. On Steam, 92% of reviews praise the game, which is categorized as a "very positive" reception.
  2. Steam users praise the depth of gameplay and rich strategic options. The execution is also collecting good reviews, both in terms of graphics and the level of technical refinement (for an early access game).
  3. The criticism is mainly about too modest development options, which we hope will be improved as the game expands in early access, as the ability to unlock almost endless items is what keeps players interested in auto battlers for a long time.

Below we cite some sample player reviews:

"Cool game. Give it a chance. It has more depth than you might expect when hearing "auto-battler."

Overall, Mechabellum resembles a game of chess."

"The best auto-battler in 2023."

"Great graphics and lots of different strategies and options make this an addictive auto-battler that entertains both when playing and watching. Some elements are underdeveloped - there are quite a few spelling errors, and the fonts don't always match the rest of the elements, but other than that it's a very solid production."

"My favorite game this year.

  1. You can play it for 10 minutes in a hurry or spend the whole day playing it
  2. Spectator mode with score predictions is a new way to play.
  3. It has a system of automatic tournaments (finally someone has implemented it properly)."
