Metro Exodus Creators Work on New AAA IP
The release of Metro Exodus took place in 2019. Since then, the developers from 4A Games have not been idle. All the stars in the sky indicate that the team is working not only on the next installment of Metro, but also on a new video game IP.
IN A NUTSHELL:
- Work begins on a new IP from 4A Games;
- The recruitment of employees whose task will be to create a new series has begun;
- The game will be based on studio's own engine.
Metro Exodus has received very good ratings. The Ukrainian studio, which makes games set in the universe creaeted by Dmitry Glukhovsky, once again found itself in the spotlight. The creators did not rest on their laurels and even before the third part of the series hit Steam (after being an Epic Games Store exclusive for a year) they got down to work on the next title. 4A Games, in cooperation with Saber Interactive, intends to create a spin-off to the series, containing some multiplayer elements.

But let's get back to the topic. A whole bunch of new job offers appeared on 4A Games' website recently, in majority related to expansion of the team in order to create a new AAA IP. So far, the only thing that is certain is that it will be separate from Metro franchise, powered by the studio's own engine, and it will feature, among other things, vehicles, weapons, specially designed creatures and extremely interactive environment, which will respond to our actions. All this sounds as if the Ukrainians responsible for Metro plan to maintain their position as the developers of games competing with the upcoming S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2.
Anything is possible, although it should be remembered that 4A Games is only at the stage of assembling a team at this point. Their new game is unlikely to appear in the coming months and the attention of the players will be drawn to the aforementioned Metro 4, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl, which launches in April, or Atomic Heart, which has been announced for a long time.
