Microsoft Reveals News Bar - Headlines on Windows Desktop

Microsoft Store has launched the News Bar for Windows 10 - a tool that can provide us with the most interesting information from the world in the form of a bar.

News Bar looks like Windows Vista widgets
IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. The News Bar is currently in beta phase;
  2. The source of articles provided by the application is a list of 4500 websites selected by Microsoft News.

Everyone has a favorite form of browsing the news. This can be visiting selected websites, using applications to sort content (such as Squid), RSS feeds or widgets. Microsoft has decided on the last solution, and News Bar, their idea for such as application, which looks like widgets from Windows Vista, has appeared in Microsoft store.

The app retains the properties of a taskbar - we can place it in a chosen place on the desktop, change its size or the size of elements that are on it. The source of all content is Microsoft News. As the authors of the application claim:

“The News Bar brings you the latest news from the Microsoft News network of over 4,500 of the world’s most respected journalism brands."

The application is easily configurable, so you won't have to see it on your desktop all the time. The project is available in Microsoft Store in beta version and is still open to user suggestions.

"Microsoft’s Windows News Bar works just like the Windows Taskbar. It’s there when you need it, where you need it and how you need it. Customize its appearance in settings to find the experience that’s just right for you. If you want to focus, don’t worry, you can minimize the News Bar at any time and then bring it back when you’re ready for it again."

The Redmond Giant has recently made a number of decisions related to navigation around its system. A few days ago we informed about plans to get rid of the current Control Panel in Windows 10, which definitely did not appeal to users. What will happen in this case? As long as it is an additional option and not a forced, there is nothing wrong with it.
