Minecraft Earth Shuts Down But Not Before Final Update

Minecraft Earth has received another, final update. The game will no longer be supported due to the change of priorities at Mojang Studios.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • Minecraft Earth received the final update in the game's history - the developers decided to remove all transactions involving real money;
  • This nice gesture is related to the developers' decision to stop supporting the game and the officially shutdown of the game on June 30, 2021.

Designed for augmented reality, Minecraft Earth will soon cease to be supported by the developers at Mojang Studios. The blame for this state of affairs lies, among others, with the current situation of our globe, which has to face the coronavirus pandemic. The pandemic makes it impossible to move freely around the city streets with friends, so it stands in opposition to what the aforementioned mobile game was supposed to promote.

The creators announced on Minecraft's official website that this AR game will be abandoned as of June 30, 2021. This also means, unfortunately, that it is no longer possible to download and run the game, since Mojang Studios abandoned all support.

This means the ardent fans of Minecraft Earth will have the last few months to enjoy the game. The studio has even prepared one more update for them, which will officially become the final version of the game. It introduces a lot of improvements to offer more freedom and fun. We're talking about a complete removal of microtransactions using real money, as well as a drastic reduction in the price of rubies, one of the driving forces of the game.

WHAT IF I BOUGHT SOMETHING IN MINECRAFT EARTH?

The creators have prepared something for people who have spent their real money on Minecraft Earth. They will get Minecoins to spend on Minecraft marketplace and a free copy of Minecraft Bedrock Edition.

The crafting process will also be much more efficient and we will also get a lot of high level boosts related to it. In addition, every user who logs into the game in the coming months will receive a set of special items for the character wizard. And that's how Minecraft Earth's swan song looks like - fans should be able to digest this sad news and say goodbye to the title with dignity.
