Minecraft has received another test update, so-called snapshot, 20w48a. The patch introduces new material, makes a few changes in the interface and fixes a number of known bugs.
IN A NUTSHELL:
In the latest update for Minecraft, so-called Snapshot 20w48a, the developers introduced a new kind of rock, called Pointed Dripstone. Ingenious players have already found the first ways to use this material, creating structures and sculptures using its unique feature - the ability to build stalagmites and stalactites. They share their works on the Internet, e.g. on Reddit.

Pointed Dripstone is not the only novelty in this version of Minecraft. The developers have also added a new game rule, which enables players to turn frost damage inflicted by snow on and off. We also got a couple of changes in the interface - the hint system has been improved and the ability to right-click on item pouches - e.g. twenty stones - enabling us to remove one item from it.
The patch also fixes some known bugs. There was a mistake, for example, that spoiled the animations during swimming and other actions and one that made lava and water transparent when we were at a certain height. The full list of changes and corrections in Snapshot 20w48a can be found here.
