Board game specialists at Steamforged Games announced the kickstarter campaign launch date for its Monster Hunter World: The Board Game project, a tabletop adaptation of the hit 2018 video game. The fundraiser will start on April 20 and will only last until April 30. In practice, the action will act as a pre-order, rather than an initiative to raise the funds needed to make the board game.
In addition, a trailer of the project debuted on Dicebreaker (to watch it you have to go to the indicated page), which shows what you'll find in the box with Monster Hunter World: The Board Game. The game looks impressive, offering a ton of elements and great looking monster figures.
The fundraiser will offer many variants of the game - from a simplified minimum edition costing 51 pounds ($70), with four monsters and the same number of heroes and a 30-hour campaign, to the complete version, in which for 203 pounds ($280) we get 24 figures, including one XXXL size representing a dragon known as Kushala Daora, and a extended campaign estimated at 75 hours.
It's worth mentioning that Steamforged Games is a proven company, so there's no worry that the promises from Kickstarter won't be fulfilled. The team has previously released boardgames adapting video games such as Devil May Cry 5, Dark Souls and Resident Evil 2.
Monster Hunter World: The Board Game is not the only attraction that fans of the franchise can look forward to. On March 26, Monster Hunter: Rise will debut on Nintendo Switch. Capcom recently announced that this game will also be ported to PC, albeit next year.
