MultiVersus Officially Announced - Batman, Superman, Bugs Bunny and Arya Stark Duking it Out

Player First Games has officially announced MultiVersus - a free-to-play online fighting game in which we'll play as characters from Warner Bros. brands. We also got a trailer with commentary from the game's director, Tony Huynh.

We lived to see the official announcement of MultiVersusa free-to-play online fighting game featuring the popular characters from Warner Bros. brands, which has been rumored of for some time now. Today, Tony Huynh, the game's director at Player First Games, presented the production in a video shared on YouTube. You can watch it below.

Reports that MultiVersus is heavily inspired by the Super Smash Bros series have been confirmed. We can fight alone or in up to four-player co-op in single- or multi-level arenas in a 2.5D layout - the game will offer 1v1, 2v2, and free for all modes. Developers focus on responsive gameplay, while declaring that in team fights an important role will play the skill synergy of selected characters.

Many of the latter were revealed by the recent leak, which now also lived to see confirmation. We'll be able to play as characters like Batman, Harley Quinn, Superman, Wonder Woman, Bugs Bunny, Shaggy from Scooby Doo, Tom and Jerry or Arya Stark from Game of Thrones. The rest of the revealed character roster can be found on the first of the screenshots below. Others are expected to be revealed "soon". - There's talk of Gandalf from The Lord of the Rings.

The exact release date of MultiVersus remains unknown - we only know that the game should be released in 2022 on PC, PS4, PS5, XOne and XSX|S and is to offer crossplay. In the meantime, we are to be acquainted not only with the new characters, but also with additional game modes, unlockable skins, and events planned by the developers, whose motto is: "everything is possible".
