Watch Superman and Shaggy Gang Up on Wonder Woman in Multiversus Gameplay
We now know how the gameplay in MultiVersus will look like. Together with professional Super Smash Bros. players, the developers have played three sample matches, in which heroes from different universes faced each other.
Creators of MultiVersus a fighting game inspired by Super Smash Bros., presented the first longer gameplay footage from their game. In it we can see a 2-on-2 co-op fight between the developers - Tony Huynh and Daniel Kraft - and professional players - NAKAT and VoiD.
Superman and Shaggy versus Wonder Woman and Tom
The gameplay is very dynamic and, as befits a 2.5D fighting game, there's no shortage of impressive and effective attacks. The video presents three matches, two of which, surprisingly or not, were won by the developers.
At the end, we can also listen to a short interview with the professionals, who share their impressions on the gameplay in MultiVersus.
Pro impressions
Both VoiD and NAKAT were very positive about the game. They liked the mechanics, dynamics, as well as the music and graphics. They also praised the team's creativity in terms of giving the characters unique features.
"Be creative. I guess that's what I would have to say, there are so many things in the game that I had no idea I would like. [...] All the sound effects and even the lobby music stuck in my head. And so on and so forth, you know, there are so many worlds that can come together in MultiVersus, and I want to see even more of it," VoiD said.
NAKAT completely agreed with the former, also pointing out that what definitely sets MultiVersus apart is the creativity of the developers.
He is also impressed that Player First Games managed to bring to life so many heroes and heroines from different universes in one game.
Launch and alpha testing
When releasing the video, the studio did not share the release date. However, we know that the debut of the full version of the game can be expected this year.
The news about alpha version testing is a good thing. According to the FAQ MultiVersus testing will last from May 17 to May 29. When the testing starts, players will receive e-mails with a code to play. Testers will also be able to invite up to three friends to play together.
MultiVersus will be released on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC.
