- Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered received the NFSHPR Texture Pack mod;
- It improves 3565 textures, which in the PC version of the remaster were inferior in quality to those from the 2010 original;
- The whole thing weighs nearly 12.8 GB after compression.
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered, especially its PC version, aroused some controversy among players. It was discovered, among other things, that 3565 textures in the remastered version of the title, which accounts for 69.4% of the total number, look worse than in the original 2010 PC release of Criterion Games' title. Fortunately, there was one disgruntled individual who has set out to rectify this. He goes by the nickname DGIorio and created a mod called NFSHPR Texture Pack.

By installing the mode, we will be replacing absolutely all of the lower quality textures that are part of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered on PC with up-scaled equivalents, while keeping everything else intact. First, however, we must prepare yourself for downloading a lot of data. The project after compression weighs as much as 12.8 GB. This is more than can be uploaded to the servers of NFSMods website. Therefore, when we click the Download button, we will only receive a text file with a download link to the mod.
In order to enjoy NFSHPR Texture Pack, we must unzip the downloaded archive in the place where we have installed Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered, and agree to file replacement. Remember to back up CHARACTERS, SEACREST, and VEHICLES folders, as well as the GLOBALEFFECTS.BNDL file. This way, if we find that we do not like the modded version of the game or it does not work satisfactorily, we will be able to easily roll back the game. The Steam and Origin file repair option will also enable us to do this.
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered, apart from the PC, is also available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
