One of Steam's hits will never go free-to-play because devs want to protect REPO fans from the biggest evil: microtransactions

REPO, a horror game full of black humor with a co-op mode, has unexpectedly become one of the biggest hits on Steam this year. The title is sold in early access, so currently the devs are working on its improvements and new content. It's already known that the creators definitely don't plan to switch to a free-to-play model.

2. One of them concerned the possibility of switching to a free-to-play model. The devs assured that there is no chance for that. They want to protect players from what they believe is the worst phenomenon in the industry - microtransactions.
3. REPO is a paid production, and it was crucial for the devs that everything in the game is earned solely through gameplay. That's why there are no microtransactions, including even the possibility of buying purely cosmetic items, and it's supposed to stay that way.

Cosmetics, which we will unlock exclusively through gameplay, are in fact one of the elements that will be greatly expanded by the upcoming update. So far, it's been confirmed that there will be some that allow you to change the facial expressions of the characters.

REPO is only available on Steam Early Access, where it costs $9.99.
