The demo of Outriders was so effective in encouraging players to pre-order that the game broke into the top ten of last week's Steam bestsellers. Valheim remained the leader of the list.
Valve released its usual weekly list of bestellers on Steam (by revenue). In the top three we don't find too many changes Valheim remains the leader, Valve Index VR Ki holds the second place, and in the third - the Chinese RPG Tale of Immortal. These latter two positions have swapped places compared to last week.
The rest of the list is much more interesting. It's worth noting the fact that the number seven position was taken by pre-orders of Outriders. It's the game's debut on the list, and there's still a month left until its launch. The explosion of interest in the project was probably caused by last week's debut of the extensive demo. This is a bit of a surprise, because it seemed that the demo met with a mixed reception. There was no shortage of opinions that the beginning of the game is boring and too verbose, and the combat leaves a lot to be desired. As you can see, the demo appealed to a large enough group of people that their pre-orders were enough to make Outriders break into the top ten.
It's also worth noting the successful debut of Persona 5 Strikers, which took fourth and fifth place (the revenue reporting system on Steam is quite strange and that's why sometimes there are situations when one game takes two positions). The game was released last week and is getting a lot of attention. This is not surprising, because last year the PC port of Persona 4 Golden turned out to be a hit. It is clear that PC players are thirsty for titles from this franchise, which we hope will encourage Sega to port Persona 5 and Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster to PC.
While discussing the list, we also notice that for the second week in a row we will not find Cyberpunk 2077 in it. It seems that CD Projekt RED's game has fallen out of the group of Steam's biggest bestsellers for good.
