Overwatch 2 May Launch Only at the End of 2021

A new artbook may suggest that we will wait a lot longer what expected for Overwatch 2. There are many indications that the game will be released only at the end of next year.

There are reports on the web that the launch of Overwatch 2 will take place at the end of 2021 at the earliest. The source of this speculation is Amazon's website, where the card of The Art of Overwatch, Volume 2 appeared.

The album is to be released on October 15, 2021. In its description, we can find information that it will offer elements announcing Overwatch 2. Some fans hope that these will present the development process of the already released game, but the variant in which the artbook will be one of the elements that will heat up the atmosphere before the release of the sequel is much more likely seems. In the latter case, the game would be released in the second half of October or later.

It is worth recalling that two months ago there were reports that Overwatch 2 would be released next February. Their source was a fan named Metro, who has a very good reputation when it comes to leaks related to Blizzard's games. However, he pointed out that it may be about the beginning of beta and not the release of full version. In his commentary on the appearance of the artbook, he expressed hope that the tests will start in two months' time, but he mentioned that delays in development caused by the coronavirus pandemic may have slowed down work and thus invalidated the information he had obtained earlier.

We hope that the launch date will be announced during BlizzOnline, a virtual event to replace the BlizzCon, which will take place on February 19-20.

Let's recall that Overwatch 2 is officially only going to be launched on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. However, we'd be surprised if the game didn't also appear on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
