People Can Fly will develop a big-budget game based on one of Microsoft's popular IPs.
Known for Outriders, Polish studio People Can Fly will create a big-budget game for Microsoft.
We don't know anything about the project so far, but it's worth mentioning the development strategy that People Can Fly presented to investors in January, this year.
This description suggests a focus on live-service games. Of course, no definite conclusions should be drawn from these declarations at this point. People Can Fly intends to release as many as six games in four years, and they will most likely differ significantly from each other. On top of that, the strategy was being developed before the Microsoft deal was signed.
Could it be about a new installment of Gears of War?
Some speculate that this new project of the Polish studio will be a game set in the universe of Gears of War. No official information suggests this, but People Can Fly has experience in working on this brand - as the team has developed Gears of War: Judgment, as well as the PC version of the first installment.
If the studio is indeed working on a game from this brand, it's probably about some kind of spin-off, as the sixth main installment of the series is to be created at The Coalition.
Recall that the studio's latest game is the online action game from 2021 - Outriders - which was released on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. Last year saw the debut of a major expansion for the game, titled Worldslayer.
