Conor McGregor's performance in Road House alongside Jake Gyllenhaal has caught attention of audiences and apparently also made them crave for more, but not for the film itself, but rather his own presence on screens. Not surprisingly, a trailer for Popeye the Sailor Man, which would allegedly feature Conor McGregor in the lead role, has attracted a lot of interest. You can see that trailer below.

Unfortunately, we have bad news for those who were happy to hear the news for the next McGreogr movie, as well as the live-action production about Popeye they may have been waiting for. The trailer is not real, and such a film isn’t even in the plans and it certainly won't be in cinemas in 2024. The video was made by online filmmakers, KH Studio, who specialize in fan-made trailers of their own concepts.

And that's exactly what Popeye the Sailor Man is – the creation of fans, who cast McGregor in the lead role. They used scenes from Road House to create this trailer, as well as short footage probably created with the help of AI.

But Popeya fans shouldn't give up, as in March 2024 Variety reported that work is underway on a live-action version of the sailor's adventures from Chernin Entertainment and King Features. The screenwriter of the project is reportedly Michael Caleo, who worked on The Sopranos, among others. So all hope isn’t lost, because although the trailer from KH Studio isn’t real, such movie can still be made, or even is already being made, and it is quite possible that it will come to fruition, but probably not with McGregor. For now, however, there is no more information about this project.
